The surgical suite holds many challenges for air distribution and pressure control. During operating times, the suite becomes a chaotic assemblance of surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists and technical support staff creating a flurry of opening doors, air turbulence and uncontrolled displacement of particles from one zone to another. Initial commissioning and balancing of air movement and the subsequent periodic testing is a key element in maintaining control over the various areas that separate clean zones from dirty zones.
