Pandemic outbreaks, influenza and the many contagious diseases attributed to human life pose extreme risks to facilities where the preservation of health is paramount. Containment and isolation is the key to controlling harmful airborne and aerosolised particles from entering the outside airstream. Isolation rooms are set up so that protection from the contagious patient is assured, conversely, that protection to an immuno-compromised patient from outside sources is maintained.
